Pick Me Up festival

I had a wonderful time at the Pick Me Up contemporary graphic art festival at Somerset House yesterday. I discovered some really innovative graphic designers - see below for works by Maricormaricar, Malarky, You Byun, Anna Lomax, Rob Flowers, and Malika Favre. I also enjoyed the layered screenprints of the Fatherless Print Posse, the amusing works by the collective Hero of Switzerland (including an amazing Bill Cosby portrait), and charming works with uplifting slogans from the Nelly Duff gallery. Items for sale included bRiebok t-shirts and adorable Lazy Oaf totebags. Event highlights were the fun "Muckburgers" game (prize was an "unhappy meal"), the Coffee Club Sketch-Matic (got a free sketch of a lion dancing with a bear), and the F***yeux Tapestry which anyone could decorate (but only with the words "f***" and "you").

Flowers!

This week was the first sunny week this year in London. The weather inspired me to buy some pink roses and put them in wine bottles. Also bought some yellow roses for my little white bird vase.

Green faces galore

I saw this amazing wall art on a street in Stoke Newington today. Love the sea green color and all the crazy faces!

Byron

Seems like Byron is the only place in London that serves good cheeseburgers. Last night I went there for a burger, fries, and Oreo shake, and it was like heaven on earth! So delicious!

Interesting drawing

Found this child's drawing on the ground yesterday. Not exactly sure I know what's being depicted. A fire-breathing bald woman in a chic red dress with heart?  And a sad man lying on a raft above her, drinking beer, eating spaghetti, and sunbathing under a hot pink sun?

Pope in the window

While walking down the street, I thought I saw Pope Benedict in a window. It took me a minute to realize it was only a life-size cardboard cutout!
