I discovered a dessert called a "Baked Alaska" this weekend at one of my favorite restaurants, Giant Robot in Clerkenwell. It consists of cake and ice cream with a lot of meringue on top. The giant white poof is then set on fire to firm the meringue (and somehow the ice cream inside still stays cold). It was a fun dessert experience (and thank goodness my hair didn't catch on fire)!
