Summer break in NYC

I spent some time in NYC this summer for my best friend Maria's wedding and thought I would post a few pictures from the trip. I had a wonderful time and remembered how strange and random NYC can be!

Saint Thomas Church, 5th Avenue and 53rd Street

Columbia (alma mater)

Park Slope, Brooklyn

Park Slope window

Pink teddy bear in a danger zone (Park Slope, Brooklyn)

What a little rebel.....

Home of the best donuts on earth (Greenpoint, Brooklyn)

Peter Pan window

Random Elmo on 6th Avenue and 50th Street. The little conjoined Elmo is for tips.

He keeps waving but no one waves back.... :-(

Kittens in Williamsburg

My friend Todd carries googly eyes everywhere he goes. We used them to transform this jar of ketchup into "Mr. Ketchup"!

Cotswold sheep

St. Edwards Church, Stow on the Wold

Beautiful little church in Stow on the Wold in the Cotswolds. Loved the little cemetery and the poppies...

Kiftsgate Gardens

I also visited Kiftsgate Gardens (next door to Hidcote). Kiftsgate is a series of interconnecting gardens, each with its own special character. The gardens are the creation of three generations of women gardeners. I kept expecting to see fairies, gnomes, and other magical creatures here! I was blown away by the ferns, the profusion of red and pink, the gorgeous roses, and the tiny purple "stars"!
