Spotted this little girl's sneaker (or trainer as they say in the UK) while walking in Mecklenburgh Square today. I feel so badly for the girl who is missing her adorable pink shoe! It brightened my day though to see such a cute shoe in such an unexpected location.

Cotton candy haze
Last night James and I went to the Goodenough College Spring Ball. The highlight of the evening was probably the pink cotton candy. The cotton candy photos we took turned out a bit blurry, especially the psychadelic photo of the cotton candy machine. I kinda like the blurry quality of the shots though - makes it seem like we're in a surreal cotton candy-induced haze.

Heart stool
My boyfriend made a wooden stool for me with a cute heart on the top! Wasn't that sweet of him? Check out his digital fabrication start-up Fabsie at http://fabsie.com. They are going to be making amazing ready-to-assemble furniture and have a Kickstarter campaign launching on Monday.

Lovely V-Day meal
Instead of going out for dinner, my boyfriend made this yummy meal for us. Antipasto, lamb, potatoes, box of chocolates, and white chocolate & cherry mousses with little hearts on top!
Gifts from my Valentine
I got the best gifts for Valentine's Day this year - a gorgeous tea cup and two books from Fortnum & Mason. One of the books is about tea, and the other is on honey and preserves. There are tons of lovely pictures and recipes inside. (I think my boyfriend might be hinting that I should be more of a cook!)

Happy Birthday, Arthur Hughes!
I bought a cupcake today to celebrate the birthday of Arthur Hughes, the Pre-Raphaelite artist who is the star of my dissertation. He died in 1915, but I like to pretend he's still around! :-)

Fortnum & Mason delicacies
I stepped into Fortnum & Mason briefly today to check out the latest delicacies. They had square mashmallows in an array of pastel colors, a beautiful pink and white box with chocolates inside (I was tempted to buy it just for the box!), and a big honey display with various kinds of honey, including Spanish Orange Blossom and Hungarian Acacia honey.
