Last Tuesday Society

On the 31st I went to the launch party at the Last Tuesday Society for Lily Vanilli's book The Zombie Ate My Cupcake. Lily Vanilli specializes in cakes that look spooky & grotesque and her cookbook includes "25 deliciously weird cupcake recipes." You can see some of her creations below:

I also spent some time looking around the Last Tuesday Society's "Little Shop of Horrors," a crazy collection of skulls, bones, taxidermy, mutant stuffed animals, and strange books like Sex Instruction for Irish Farmers.

"The Future Can Wait"

A yearly contemporary art exhibition dealing with gothic & grotesque themes. This year's installation was in the cavernous basement of the Shoreditch Town Hall. I was inspired by the beautiful interaction between light and dark, life and death, and love and loss. The show also renewed my obsession with glass.

Liberty fabrics = love!

So I'm completely obsessed with Liberty fabrics. Walking through the fabric section of the store warms my heart. I want dresses made from each of the fabrics below. Maybe I'll pursue a second career in textile design...

Latest obsession = pretty soap packaging. You can buy these soaps for just 4 pounds each at Liberty. But you'll probably never use the soap. Why would anyone ever want to take off that gorgeous paper?!

Christmas at Liberty

It's not even October, but it's never too early for Christmas decorations at Liberty. I'm in love with the adorable white animals and simply had to buy myself one of the little foxes! And how incredible are those sparkly hedgehogs?!
