My V-Day gift

Someone sweet got me this box of champagne and truffles!

Fortnum & Mason...now that's some quality stuff! :-)

Valentine's Cupcakes!

Bea's of Bloomsbury is the place to go for Valentine's Day! Their cupcakes are like works of art, and they taste incredible!

Present for my Valentine

First I bought a pretty cupcake and put it in a box.

Then I decorated the box so my Valentine would know it was from me. (That's a picture of a cougar because I'm 4 years older than him.)
Then I decorated the front of a bag, put the cupcake box inside, and put the bag in the hand of a giant red inflatable t-rex!
Side view...
I also bought this cheesy balloon.
And tied it to the dinosaur's other hand!
Finally, I sprayed him thoroughly with one of my favorite perfumes - Oscar de la Renta's Rosamor.
After getting a few weird looks as I walked down the hall with this gigantic monstrosity, I left it outside my Valentine's door.
It was a success! Now the t-rex is standing outside my Valentine's window on this little balcony, staring menacingly at all passers by.

ROAR! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Sheep + goat = love

If you walk down Lansdowne Terrace in Bloomsbury you can look at the sheep & goats who live in Coram's Fields. Seeing them always makes me smile. I was especially delighted to see a sheep and a goat lovingly butting heads today on Valentine's Day!

jellyfish made of wool

I love this little merino wool jellyfish that hangs from my window. He doesn't sting and just hangs there peacefully smiling down on me.

You can buy your own at etsy.com.

half-smashed hot dog, anyone?

I have no idea what this is doing in the hallway by the ladies room....

creepy doll

Believe it or not this doll lives very near the panda and the large zebra-print box/gnome lair (see below for pics). Strange and mysterious things are happening in Mecklenburgh Square!

I will remember...

I was walking along this morning, passing the rooms and this pillar which I always pass on my way out, when I noticed something a bit unusual...I squinted my eyes and looked a bit closer...

Someone wrote "I will remember" on the pillar!

How beautiful!

heart-shaped meringue, anyone?

what is up with this panda

Across from the zebra-print box (see below) by Coram's Fields lives this panda. He's got a big smile and I think he is trying to be some kind of gymnast or dancer...and I couldn't help but notice that he's missing a few body parts! Isn't it interesting when the realms of cuteness and creepiness collide?

Guanabara

I went to Guanabara in Covent Garden last night for some live Brazilian music and performances! This photo doesn't really do justice to the awesome dancers. It's a great spot for tasty cocktails as well. I had the best mojito and a heavenly pear + apple + vanilla + Jack Daniel's concoction!

Gnome lair?

I walk by this zebra-printed box every day. I find it extremely puzzling. I suspect little zebra-loving gnomes live inside...

ICE

Someone wrote ICE on a tube door. Wonder if ICE is his name...maybe Vanilla Ice was riding the London tube! Or maybe the person who wrote it is just a big fan of frozen water? Or perhaps someone is trying to promote the Institution of Civil Engineers? What a mystery! I'm going to be up all night pondering the possibilities...

random tree branch

WTF?!

foot in my mouth

I discovered the bakery at Waitrose, and guess what?! They have foot cookies!

I made a cup of tea and "put my foot in my mouth." Luckily no one was around to see me make such a fool of myself. :-)

my name in sugar

Having fun with the sugar at Carluccios...I actually really like this font...kind of vampire-y, isn't it?
